Two Tier Chandelier Earrings

Instructions provided by WigJig

STEP 1
Cut three segments of wire, one 3 inches long, one 2-3/4 inches long and one 2-1/4 inches. For your first effort use 20-gauge wire. As you become experienced you can increase your wire size to 18-gauge.
STEP 2
Make a loop in one end of each wire segment using your round-nose pliers or wire-wrapping pliers.
STEP 3
Straighten each wire segment using your nylon jaw pliers.
STEP 4
Note the peg pattern for the three wire components shown at right. We shall call the three wire components the ''V'' shaped component, the bottom component and the top wire component.
STEP 5
Begin making each wire component using the pattern shown above. Always start with two pegs in your pattern and add the next peg after you have completed wrapping your wire around the prior peg.
STEP 6
When all three wire components are completed, remove the wire from the jig and cut the excess wire. Close the final loop in the wire component using your bent chain-nose pliers.

At this point your ''V'' shaped wire component and the bottom wire component are completed. We need to do some more work on the top wire component to enable it to connect to the ''V'' shaped wire component. When removed from the jig the top wire component will appear as shown in Figure A. Once the excess wire has been removed the component will appear as shown in Figure B. At this point you need to grasp each of the bottom loops with the tips of your round-nose pliers and convert them to eye loops as shown in Figure C. Finally, you need to grasp each bottom loop with your bent chain-nose pliers and rotate the loop 90 degrees as shown in Figure D.
STEP 8
With the top wire component completed, you are ready to connect the top wire component to the ''V'' shaped wire component. First, open one loop on the top wire component and connect that loop to one side of the ''V'' shaped wire component. To connect the opposite side of the two components you will need to open both loops, connect the two wire components and then close both loops. Once connected the wire component will appear as shown.
STEP 9
Now we are ready to begin adding beads. Using headpins, connect 6mm beads to the loops made on pegs 1, 3 and 5 of the ''V'' shaped wire component.
STEP 10
Using about 2-1/2 inches of 22-gauge wire and a 6mm bead make a wrapped bead link to connect the loop made on peg 2 in the ''V'' shaped wire component to the loop made on peg 6 of the bottom wire component. Do the same thing for the loops made on peg 4 and 9.
STEP 11
Using headpins, connect 6mm beads to the loops made on pegs 7, 8 and 9.
STEP 12
Using a jumpring connect the loop made on peg 12 in the top wire component to your earwire finding.
STEP 13
Using a headpin, connect a 6mm bead to the loop made on peg 12. This completes your earring.
