Meet the Designer-Artist

Where do you live?
Csongrad, Hungary

What inspires you as a designer-artist?
Just about anything: colors, lights, seasons, our river Tisza, a film character, drawings, paintings and most of all, my make-up artist friend, who comes up with a magical design and I just have to make something to make it look even more unique.

What medium do you work with mostly?
Wire, I love the color of copper, seed beads, gemstones, crystals - anything that is beautiful. I love combining wire-work with beadwork and coming up with new ideas.

Why did you become enchanted with this style of jewelry-making?
I am a person who is never satisfied and I have to feel that a particular piece of jewelry is entirely my own, starting from the design to inventing new ways of making my "dreams" come true. Making a piece involves a lot of deliberation and sleepless nights for me!

Where and How do you sell your jewelry?
Through friends, in shows that I am invited to, custom orders (I love making unique jewelry for someone I know and adding their personality to my work!), my Facebook page www.facebook.com/Lylybeads. Sometimes I am on Etsy too, however, I am not really good at promoting my work, because it is the creation part that I am interested in and selling only takes away from the time I can spend on my work.

What is the name of the piece you submitted with your success story?
Spring is in the Air

What inspired this design?
My mother does wonderful crochet lace things - so, naturally, I had to create lace from wire :) and crystals tend to find their way into my work.

How did it come together?
I either do very detailed designs for my necklaces or I just sit down with a color palette and let the piece take me where it wants to go. This one was designed in advance and I only made minor changes during the actual working process.
