Where do you live?
Green Bay, Wisconsin

Describe your artistic style.
My artistic style incorporates Native American designs with seed beads and the use of organic beads, especially pearls.

What inspires you as a designer-artist?
Nature and the fact that we live in a world with so many color variations!

What materials do you most enjoy working with?
Pearls and seed beads.

What is the name of the piece you submitted with your success story?
A Romantic Dream

What inspired this design?
I saw the cabochons and the cameo in the catalog and thought they would look great with pearls.

How did it come together? For example, did you plan it out or did it define itself once you began working?
I planned this design out and then made the final sketches in color at home.

When and how did you begin making jewelry/beading?
I started beading at 18.

Who introduced you to beading?
My Dad and my Auntie Jo.

Do you have an artistic background?
I do have an artistic background. Throughout my life I have always been interested in art and I love how versatile art can be.

How did you discover Fire Mountain Gems and Beads®?
While looking through Bead and Button magazine.

What other hobbies do you have?
Reading, knitting, spending time with family and cooking

What role does jewelry-making play in your life?
Jewelry-making/beading is a part-time career for me as I am currently a doctoral student. It has supplemented my income.

If you used jewelry-making as a way to bring in income, how are you selling yourself and your jewelry?
I attend craft fairs. I am currently creating a website.

Any advice for aspiring jewelry-artists?
Experiment with color and have fun with it. Also, be proud of your art work as it is as unique as the person who created it!
