Meet the Designer-Artist

I have always had an artistic bent, and I have worked with almost every medium from clay sculpture to paint and everything in between. About 8 years ago I was introduced to jewelry making by a co-worker when she wore a beautiful turquoise necklace to work that she said her Aunt made her as a gift. I had not even considered jewelry making as something I would be interested in. The next day she brought in a "Fire Mountain Suppliers Catalog" and I started beading for fun. This is when I became interested in gems and minerals. I finally found myself when I joined the local lapidary club and learned about rocks. I learned to dig, cut and shape stone and that was only the beginning. I needed to do more with my knowledge and started taking courses in metal smithing at the local Jr. College, then hydraulics with jewelry. I learned the basics from these resources and the rest was experimental and through trial and error. A lot of error. My inspiration comes from creatures of this earth big or small. They are a part of the inner workings of everything and are not seen or thought of much at all. My "Wild Envy Designs" brings them to the forefront of our minds. Natures' designs are the most beautiful designs. I am working to display my art and build my business full-time. My website can be found at www.WildEnvy.com. I also have a store on Etsy "Wild Envy Designs" under the handcrafted category.
