Meet the Designer-ArtistI am inspired by nature, history and other cultures, as well as the beads themselves. It can be a pretty pendant, gemstone or even a clasp. My style: I use a mixture of ethnic and bohemian styles combined with bold and casual influences to achieve my eclectic and classy designs. I am most proud of Irish Cream, a freeform peyote necklace that was chosen for the Bronze Medal Prize Winner - Tie in the Glass, Czech Pressed and Lampworkcategory of the Fire Mountain Gems' 2009 Jewelry-Making Contest.
Share Your BackgroundBesides the beading we did in the 1970s and '80s, my sister taught me how to make a strung bracelet in 2003. I was hooked! I've been growing my jewelry-making ever since.I was at a festival watching a lady make jewelry and she showed me the Fire Mountain Gems and Beads catalogue. I went home and ordered one.
Beading SuccessI pretty much work at jewelry-making full-time. If I'm not designing or creating a piece, I'm working on my Etsy store or getting ready for a show or appointment with a buyer.View all of Sheila's designs in the Gallery of Designs. |
