Share Your Background

When and how did you begin making jewelry/beading?
I began making jewelry only 2 years ago. I had an idea of blending gemstones and crystals with my love for the universe. I had a passion for the sciences and how it inspired my art. It began as a thought and grew into creating jewelry that had personal meaning and significance. From this I launched my business: Wisdom Art LLC.

Who introduced you to beading?
I have always had an appreciation for the art of creating jewelry. There were many who created it around me, their talent and vision was inspiring.

Do you have an artistic background?
I have been creating art since I could remember. I am an Art Educator and Creative Arts Therapist. I love the idea of using art as a vehicle for self discovery.

How did you discover Fire Mountain Gems and BeadsĀ®?
I discovered Fire Mountain Gems when I was developing Wisdom Art LLC. I began to think of each stone I wanted in, what I call, my "Gemstone Library." This is when I stumbled onto Fire Mountain Gems.

What other hobbies do you have?
I enjoy doing so many activities outside, discovering the simple beauty that is all around us. I think it is so important to take time from our busy world today, to do this.

Do you belong to any beading societies or beading groups?
At this time, I do not, but I created a page on Facebook called: Gemstones and Crystals: from the science to the metaphysical. I love to share information that brings deeper meaning to the jewelry people have or want to create.

Beading Success

What role does jewelry-making play in your life?
Creating Jewelry plays a significant part of my life with the launch of Wisdom Art LLC. It does have an emotional impact on me to create something timeless and unique to the individual receiving it. Of course with the amazing gemstones and crystals I use, I believe there is a physical impact also.

If you used jewelry-making as a way to bring in income, how are you selling yourself and your jewelry?
I have an online business called Wisdom Art LLC: Inspired by the universe and the day you were born. What I create is a mathematical replica of the alignment of the plants in space the moment you were born. I use gemstones that are linked to each planet. Of course we all have a birthday; I create these bracelets, necklaces and each one is unique. It truly is timeless and really becomes a story about you. I have done a few shows, and hope to do more, I also have a page on Facebook: Wisdom Art.

Do you participate in any charity fundraisers?
Actually my passion is my work in education. I volunteer for a not-for-profit organization: World Genesis Foundation, creating educational opportunity for youth in areas of the world where little or none exist. A portion of everything from Wisdom Art goes directly to supporting these programs. We have had fundraisers and also have sent beading materials for creating jewelry to areas in Romania and South Africa this year. It has been amazing. I really believe in creating opportunity for our youth, for self-discovery and finding passion, after all, our youth are the messages we send into the future.

Any advice for aspiring jewelry-artists?
My advice would be if you can dream it, you can create it. I believe that wisdom starts within each one of us and it is about that journey and discovery.
